
Amal’s fascination for the visual word stems from her Palestinian background. A lifelong interest in good story-telling, but better story-hearing translates into her art: dramatically narrative paintings covering a spectrum of books, magazines, posters and cover art.

Amal’s author-illustrated book MY KEY is the 2022 winner of the Northern Lights Book Award. Twice short-listed by Palestinian publishers for the IBBY Award nomination, her art has been featured in museums, including pieces now held in private collections. Her latest book NOOR centers on the re-greening of the land of Palestine, even after Is***l's total destruction of its beauty. The book will be available through the Tamer website Feb. 2025.
Her MFA in Illustration is from the Academy of Art University, San Francisco. She teaches illustration online and fights for a planet free of monsters ✊🏽✊🏽✊🏽
